Autumn | 2013

May Autumn 2013 be a good one. Last year, I remember september and october months were a nigtmare for me. I thought of them as the cold and dark season. I missed summer so much, I had not an idea how I would be able to go through them. Let's just say my life was not the best during that time. I remember, I used to cry everyday, hoping that the depressing time will end soon enough for me to survive.

But, of course, as the year past, I realised that my life was and is good. Even though there are obstacles, and people who ruin every day for you, there are also good things in life. All you have to do is just be strong enough to discover them and explore. :) You will find someone or something that makes you happy. It could be anything, from playing an instrument to a particular show on TV. It could even be a special someone - a best friend, a lover or a support.

I may not have learnt much during my (short) lifetime, but the one thing I have learnt (and believe is definitely true) is that every thing get's better in time. Nothing lasts forever (expect maybe love in some cases - but that's a story for another time) so whatever bad thing you're going through, it'll all get better in time. It all works out.

Look at me now, at this exact day maybe even exact time 365 days ago, I must've been crying or depressed. But now, here I am loving autumn. I'm ignoring all the bad things and concentrating on the positives. Christmas is nearly here. Halloween, birthdays, warm cosy nights in,  autumn clothes (woolly jumpers and boots? Yes please!). I wish I had this positive attitude last year. I would have loved my life (or would have just about started getting there).

Anyway, I have rambled on ... My point is, if this season you're down ... just wait. Time heals everything. Enjoy Autumn. This time will only be there once and pass way too quickly. So don't be sad don't be blue. Live. Enjoy. Love. Think positive. Ignore the negatives because negatives don't last forever. And even if they do, there's always a way to ignore the negatives making the positives seem bigger. :)

make your own body scrub

Posted by Jessie at 18:45 1 comments
lthough there are a lot of different body lotions and potions out there, sometimes my body needs something which a bit more natural and fresh. I've found out that home-made face masks and other beauty products work best for me in terms of making an actual improvement. I have two different types of scrubs that I occasionally make when I'm am bored and tired of store bought ones.
Today I'm going to be showing you how to make your own fresh natural body scrubs.

The Sugar Scrub
Sugar is a great natural exfoliant. To make the sugar scrub you will need:
♥ 2 handfuls of granulated caster sugar
♥ Olive oil to mix
♥ A couple of drops of your favourite aromatherapy oil or perfume

What do you have to do:
♥ Stir the ingredients together in a bowl to form a sludgy mixture.
And that's it! All you have to do! So as you can see it doesn't take too much time or effort to create a sugar body scrub. The ingredients are not very expensive either!
You can apply the scrub when your skin is damp to scrub off all those dead skin cells, leaving your skin super soft and fresh. This works really well for me, my skin turns perfect for quite a long time.

Oatmeal Scrub
If you have sensitive or easily irritated skin, then oatmeal is for you. It soothes and helps keep skin moisturised by keeping on a thin layer of oat proteins on the skin's surface.
♥ 2 handfuls of oats
♥ Water or olive oil to mix

What you will have to do:
♥ Blitz the oats in the blender, until they are fine.
♥ Mix in a bowl with water or oil until they form a sloppy paste
And that's that! See, this was the easiest, cheapest quickest way to get perfect skin! Just rub the paste on damp skin and concentrate on rough areas like the elbow and knees. Then, rinse well.
Although when washed, this can turn into sticky lumps of porridge so don't block up the plumbing system!

Do you like any home-made skin-care products?

The book I am currently reading is a very old book (I think from the 90's). And it is a horror. If you did not know, yes, I do like horror but there is a limit for me, so nothing too scary because I do scare easy. The book I think isn't all that famous, but Funhouse by Diane was in my cousin's old reading collection and I thought it would be good for me because it was aimed at teenagers and it didn't look too scary but interesting.

I have actually got two more chapters to go, and ooh, it's getting creepy haha.

But your average mystery book (not too amazing and not to boring) it is. I really like it because there's a bit of suspense to it and reading the pages makes you unable to put the book down. It is an easy read, so if you don't like complicated sentences and hard to read books, then this is for you. :)

I have really enjoyed reading it, and I'm glad I found it :) Not sure if it'll still be available in book stores, but you can look up Ooh, and did I mention, it only costs £2.99?!

Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter Lotion

Posted by Jessie at 18:48 0 comments

When I bought this body lotion, I obviously had high expectations (I mean, who wouldn't? It's Soap & Glory after all!). And I am happy to say that this product did not disappoint me. (Yay!)

The Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter Lotion is perfect for any one who needs a moisturising every day. I say it is great for someone who has extremely dry, flake skin (me) or even someone who doesn't have extremely dry, flake skin but still needs a good moisture. The amount you need usually varies on how dry your skin is. Because this lotion is easily evenly spreadable, it's your choice on how much product you use everyday suitable for your skin type. I have to apply the lotion everyday because after around 14 hours, my skin again becomes dry.

The Righteous Body Butter Lotion has an antioxidant formula with (or so it says on the bottle):
♥Shea Butter
♥Almond Oil
♥Aloe Vera
♥Rosehip Seed
♥Vitamin E

It moisturises well, comes in an easy pump bottle and lasts ages. I mean absolutely ages. There is a lot in the bottle. Usually when you buy a good quality product, the amount in there always is less compared to the money paid for it. But not for this. Well worth the £10 I spent on it. (happy face).

The best thing about this is the smell! This smells absolutely gorgeous. Lovely.  have to say it is a very strong smell and does not fade easy. It kind of lingers on your body for hours which is good for me, because it means that I smell of gorgeous blooming flowers and what not. Sometimes, when I run out of perfume I apply some of the lotion on the neck and wrists for a nice smell and everything works out just fine :)

Dove Antiperspirant Deodorant Review

Posted by Jessie at 18:32 0 comments

I have been using Dove Antiperspirant Deodorant for quite a long time now. I have tried about 4 different scents and have also included them in quite a lot of my monthly favourites. In my opinion, the Original scent is by far the best and now I only re-purchase that.

Dove products hardly ever disappoint me. I am glad that the Dove Deos got to be on my good list.

This spray comes in handy spray bottle (and is also available in a compressed bottle). It is easy to put in my hand bag and I can take it with me on the go to spray it all over when needed to do so.

But usually every morning, after my daily shower, I spray the Dove Deodorant under my arms. I am so impressed with the product, because once applied I mostly never need to spray again for the day. The smell doesn't fade easily. And it keeps me sweat-free for the entire day.

I would highly recommend this product to everyone. It is one of best body spray/deodorant I have tried in my life. A big thumbs up from me.

This Week's Celebrity Style #1

Ellie Goulding, the other day, posted a picture of THIS DRESS on Instagram.

When I looked at it, I was actually shocked. Immediately, I wasn't a fan of the dress. I think the thing about this dress is that many people do actually like it a lot and many people do actually hate it a lot. But in my opinion, Ellie Goulding is not the one to dress bad. Her style is mostly charming and a lot of times lovable. I have to say in this picture, I love her hair, her makeup and her shoes but to me, the dress is a big No.

What do you think of the dress? Fashion Icon or Fashion Disaster?

Autumn Wishlist | 2013

Posted by Jessie at 20:12 0 comments
I love Autumn! It's my favourite time of the year, and since it is just around the corner, I wanted to make a beauty and fashion list of all the things I would like this season! I know I am probably not going to be able to afford half of this stuff but oh well, I have hope!

ghd V pink diamond styler

The first thing on my list (and probably the thing I need and want the most is GHD V Pink Diamond Styler. It's the prettiest straightener I have ever seen and because my Remington rubbish stylers are broken, I need another one desperately.
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter
The thing I know every one loves is Revlon Color Burst Lip Butters! I have tried once before in the shade Tutti Frutti, and I loved it soo, soo, so much! But unfortunately, I have lost it and it wasn't even half used up. I need to get a new one! I love these. I am thinking the shade Candy Apple or Peach Parfait.

Fuscia (Pink) Inspire Fuchsia Gem Embellished One Shoulder Prom Dress | 277134077 | New Look

I am not sure if this will suit my skin colour, but I love this dress for New Look, and right now it's on sale for £15! I just hope it stays in stock until I can buy it! But for £15, I think I might be able to.

I really want a new iPod Case, and this one is perfect! I just love and it's really cheap as well. I know it's not beauty or fashion but it's still something on my wishlist. I found it on (click HERE for the link). It's only £2.99 so I shouldn't hesitate much to buy it, but the delivery charges added to it doubles the original price.

Hair Serum Original Formula

I have so much about The John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum, and I have used it before, but never actually owned a bottle before. I know it's not that expensive, but I am still putting it on my wish list because I own so many hair  taming products, I don't think I need it. That's why I haven't bought it yet, but would love to.

That's all I want this Autumn, for some of you it may be a lot, for some of you it may be nothing. But I think I won't be able to buy all of these, especially not the GHD stylers. Do you own any of these products? What's on your wishlist?
